The Impressionists, Incorporated
This work features grayscale versions of well known Impressionist landscapes, embedded in the gallery wall and arranged in various formats, coinciding to the placement of the figures in Velazquez's Las Meninas. The works have been manipulated so that viewers can line up the images with the cut outs of faces featured in the sculpture adjacent to the wall, Supportive Images & Logics. By adjusting and focusing one's eyes on the differing depths of field, the paintings morph into the faces of the individuals in Las Meninas.
